T cell Search Strategies in the Inflamed Dermis
Deborah Fowell, PhD is the Dean’s Professor, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, and member of the Center for Vaccine Biology and Immunology at the University of Rochester Medical School. She was awarded her PhD from Oxford University, UK, with Dr. Don Mason and did a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Richard Locksley at UCSF. She currently heads the Program for Advanced Immune Bioimaging at the University of Rochester that focuses on the development of intra-vital imaging approaches and optogenetic tools to study immune responses in inflamed and infected tissues. Her research seeks to understand the dynamic interactions between immune cells, tissue stroma and the inflammatory milieu in the skin, in the steady-state and in immune-mediated skin pathologies.
