ESDR Rising Star Lecture
The 2018 Rising Stars Lectures celebrate the best of emerging dermatological science throughout the world. Program committees from SID, JSID and ESDR have selected one prominent young researcher engaged in high-impact science in their respective regions to provide a short overview on their current work.
Dr. Kasper is an Assistant Professor in skin stem cell research at the Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. She received her PhD at the University of Salzburg in human genetics and molecular tumor biology. In 2013, after a 6-year postdoctoral training in skin biology using advanced mouse models, she established her lab focusing on skin stem cell dynamics by combining multicolor lineage tracing, single-cell RNA-sequencing, and computational biology. She has contributed with significant work in the fields of skin biology and single-cell transcriptomics, published in e.g. Nature Genetics, Science, PNAS, Cell Systems, and Nature Methods, and received national and international recognitions such as the Swedish Cancer Society Young Investigator Award, Ragnar Söderberg Fellow in Medicine, Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research – Future Research Leader Award, Center for Innovative Medicine Young Investigator Award, Jürgen Schweizer Prize, and the LEO Foundation Gold Award.
